Identity Mask Activity Discussion

Describe this event and how the mask(s) work to suppress facial expression and allow a more clear message to be transmitted.

36 comments:

  1. Sometimes the identity masks suppress the facial expression(s) and allow a more clear message to be communicated. In this video, even though the sound is weak, we see a crowd observing a body on the floor. One character actually pickpockets the body and the others did not react - is this normal or did it communicate a message on our times?

HEYY I WAS THERE!! I WAS SITTING IN THE SIDELINES!!! HAHA well i think its normal. i think that now a days people notice these things but dont do anything about it! think about Detroit! there are lots of impulsive thingd that happen in Detroit and everyone just looks away until it happens to them. pickpockets, burglers, and car jackers. killers, bums, and drug dealers are just some of the ones that people turn away or try to hide from. Michigan and all over the world bad things happen tghen r hidden from the public or the public knows about it but doesnt want to help figure out how to fix these problems. there are many things that the government has turned away from also! think about how much thing the president hasnt delt with because its to much for him! think about all the things or government hasnt delt with because they dont even care!! all of these things are normal in this new generation of life! things like these are normal in the brains of humans in Michigan! its NOT communcating any message about how we have turned into this world of crime! we EVOLVED into the world of crime! we dont know anything different! this is what we have become!! and no one is doing SQUAT to fix it!! thats what i say about this topic!!

I think the masks let you pay attention to what is happening instead of who is doing it. Plus when there aren't masks your thinking about how their trying so hard not to laugh and not just seeing the event taking place.

  4. I think the masks work because you cannot see the facial expression of the people in the masks. You can telll at least one of them is laghing every time one of the pweople is wearing a mask. Mabey there face is red so the mask helps there too.

    CANNIBALS!

I think its communicating by saying don't lay down in the middle of nowhere or people will come and steal from you or eat you...

  6. Thats really creepy.

I think the masks help them to not laugh or smile, but use body languge. But I don't think this is smart because it's not okay to eat people and against people's rights. Personal Space.

  9. I dont think its normal thing that some one would do to a dead person but this does happen acsonaly but i think we just try not to think about it Steven Pyle

  10. I think that this is normal because most Americans would just stand there and let it happen in fear that something would happen to them. If you seen a dead body on the ground you might be to traumatized to even move yet alone stop a pig pocket in progress. So yeah i think this is normal behavior for us.

  11. I think that this is normal. When people see someone steal something they don't do anything about it. They may feel bad about not telling anyone but they just move on with their lives.

  12. I think it's about a funeral. Even with the mask you can tell your sad. They use their limbs as to suggest pain & sorrow. They overall, just seem sad about there dead friend or family member.

  13. The identity masks communicated that most of the people didn't care about the body. The person who pickpocketed was looking for something.

I think the masks help u pay more attention on whats going on, instead of who is preforming!

i think this is about a person maybe died or had a major heart attack and maybe passed away when no one was looking and then then like some people came from like CSI and like checked out the crime scene and found out who the person was and told his family what had went wrong and get it figured out.

  17. I think is is about a person who had died and now some people had found him on the ground. but because of the masks it makes the people have to watch more closely to the girls body launge.

  18. I think this helps us focus more on the scene instead of focusing on the expressions of the people who are preforming.

  20. I think it helps the improv because the masks hides the laughter and makes the acting look more serious. and I think the person who is laying on the ground died.

  21. I think the faces communicated a clear message because a lot of people start laughing when they are preforming and the masks help cover that up. And I think the masks help the audience too so they arent concentrating on the actors they are concentrating on what is happening.

The masks help to watch body language and NOT there faces. It helps ,also, the actors and helping them to really communicate in other ways besides facial expressions and Commucation

I kinda already know about it ...scince i was in it :)

  23. I think someone died in the scene. The mask help keep the children facial expressions. Such as laughter, crying.mad faces etc.

  24. the mask helps the peson not make any mistakes in on their face and helps them look like they are in character. in this secene i think that some people found this guy on the road and mabey he might be dead or passed out. the people were freking out and were maybe were think of somethinbg to do.

  25. HAHA I was there too. I think that the maskes make you pay more attention to what is actully happening in the scene insted of what is being said. I think this is normal in some places where there is a lot of crime and other tings, but I dont think this is normal where there isn't very much crime, like small towns in the country.

  26. For some people this is normal behavior because some would not know how to stop someone who displays this behavior (pick pockets, gang beats or just is bullying another.) but without the masks their facial expression could have shown anger or toughness to make the message more clear

  27. I think somebody had a heart attack and the other people are trying to find out if he is still alive. The masks make it harder to tell whats going on because facial expressions help you understand whats going on better.

  28. In the short clip their are 5 people who find a dead body. I can't really see what the people think about the body. The masks covers their faces so I can't see their facial expression. I don't know if the people are happy, sad, angry, ect.

  31. I think the actors are communicating that there was a person that had a heart attack or somthing like that and then some awesome actor stole his phone and Used his extreme skill to communicate that he felt guilty about it and came back to try save the tall kid and by the way the guy who robbed the guy was me!

  32. I think that the masks help the audience pay attention to whats going on instead of their facial expression. They could be laughing underneath the mask but you don't know that because they have a mask on.

  33. I think it is normal. If you found a body on the floor you would start freaking out. The person who pickpocketed the body was probably checking for identity.

  35. I think that the boy had a heart attack or stroke and he dropped dead and he was alone in an alley so nobody noticed him until the gang in the alley came back in the alley and noticed the boy

    ReplyDelete
  36. The boy must have had a hear attack and nobody was with him, so they couldn't have exactly rescued him and so he died.
