Scripts Research
Research the following web site URL. You are looking for parts of a script (movie or play) that you can use for a scene in the coming weeks. You are looking for parts (cuttings) of a script that calls for 3 or more actors. Blog your ideas here. Ensure you write the title of the script and either the scene number or page number of the scene. Then explain why you are interested in this scene.
The URL: www.simplyscripts.com
All scenes must be appropriate for middle school. Ensure you also leave your name and hour in your blog.
Thanks

Character Roles
On stage, few of the greatest female stars have been beautiful in the conventional sense. Helen Hayes, Julie Harris, Colleen Dewhurst, and today's Cherry Jones and Stockard Channing, are women with a great deal of character in their faces, but no one ever confuses them with the Sharon Stones, Marilyn Monroes, Megan Foxs, or Angeline Jolines of the world. Every one of them played a "siren" at one time or another, however. Research a beautiful actress or a more character actress and provide some information about her here in this blog.

Pick a Movie Scene any Movie Scene
Pick an interesting movie scene. Tell us about it. Give character descriptions, the purpose, some of the dialogue, and setting description. Think of everything you need for this scene, if you were to block it on a stage. This blog must be long enough to share a lot of detail. Once you have accomplished this step, then you can respond to each other's blog comments.

Blog 2: Life and Drama
Blog 2
"All the world's a stage" is the phrase that begins a monologue from William Shakespeare's As You Like It, spoken by the melancholy Jaques. The speech compares the world to a stage and life to a play. It is one of Shakespeare's most frequently-quoted passages. //////
/////What do you think about this Shakespeare quote? Do you agree with it, why or why not?

Pathfinder Drama Introduction
Welcome to Pathfinder Drama. Its focus will be ongoing information for drama students attending Pathfinder Middle School in Pinckney Michigan. As we begin school year 2010/11 most students will have some anxiousness toward drama and acting in front of their peers or friends. Students will be encouraged to go as far as they can in drama, but there will not be any embarrassment or joking at other student's expense. We are family in Drama! The most important part of encouragement for others is, "putting courage in to others."
--------------------------------------------------------------------
EXAMPLE: An 18-year-old was the top running back on his high school football team. In the spring of his senior year, Jack was asked to play the lead in a production of "Charlie's Aunt." In order to pursue the affections of the girl he loves, Charlie disguises himself as his aunt, wearing a long black dress for much of the play. Of course, Charlie is always on the verge of getting caught doing something no maiden aunt would do, like smoking a cigar. Jack's football teammates were falling out of their seats laughing, and he became more of a school star than ever.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Acting in high school plays is a bigger plus than some people realize in terms of getting into the college of your choice.......all colleges try to achieve a balanced student body that reflects a broad range of interests. Almost all colleges have a lively theatrical scene, and many, from big state-funded institutions like University of Michigan to private liberal arts colleges like Franklin & Marshall, have highly regarded drama departments.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Ninety-nine percent of my former drama students have many fond memories of the class and others that joined the theatre group Back Alley Players or Tasch Techies have excelled in a variety of endeavors at high school and college level. One former student - Amber Walker has been pursuing theatre in university and community - and has excelled in both.
Enjoy the class!
